Overview
Anyware has been working with a large manufacturer of
institution grade fitness equipment to develop a wireless
‘key’ that contains an individual’s workout history. This
key can be carried between fitness machines during the
workout process. When finished the data is then downloaded
and reviewed by the fitness coach or rehabilitation
specialist.
Business Issues
The manufacturing company believes that a large number of
currently inactive individuals, "not yet fit", will become
active if given the appropriate education, programs and
equipment. The aging population and the high cost of
treating illness are becoming a major motivating factor for
the promotion of wellness. The ‘key’ system makes working
out enjoyable and rewarding for the member and profitable
for the club.
Anyware Solution
This application enables a fitness coach to select and set
strength and exercise programs for each individual on his
fitness team, and save these programs temporarily for
eventual transport to the key system. When arriving at the
fitness center, the fitness team-member inserts his key into
a workstation, downloads his programs and workout schedules
for the day, and then travels to his first workout station.
The key is inserted into the equipment, and the team-member
begins his workout. When finished with his workout, the
fitness team-member returns his key, now storing data from
his workout session, to the workstation, and the software
uploads the information from the key for analysis. Reports
can then be generated to communicate results with the
fitness team-member. The Coach may suggest changes to the
program, communicate areas of improvement, or point out
problems to the fitness team-member.
