Overview
Anyware contracted with an international aerospace company to develop and implement a mobile data collection solution to replace their paper form-based process.

Business Issues
Pilots and flight deck crews were required to maintain large notebooks of data. Information such as flight times, in-flight problems, repair requests, and fuel usage was manually entered before, during and after flights. And as with all paper systems, the information had to be transcribed into another format before it could become useful to the ground crews that needed it most.

Anyware Solution
Our solution was an advanced handheld device that allows airline personnel to record the data, and then download it directly into a data management system. The system allowed for seamless transfer of information between the flight deck and the maintenance base and is compatible with many types of information technology systems. This solution was a groundbreaking venture into handheld technology in that it was the first handheld application of any kind to include an automatic backup feature through expansion flash memory technology. The ability to backup all data and system files on small removable flash memory cards adds a level of fault tolerance that is required amongst most international airplane certification authorities.
